Effective June 1, 2025, UCLA requires Duo Desktop to access key university systems. This is part of a UC-wide initiative to strengthen cybersecurity and is in addition to the previous mandate to install Trellix (FireEye). Please also note that you will need to complete your annual UC Cybersecurity Awareness training in order to login to these UCLA sites.
Complete and/or verify completion of your UC Cybersecurity Awareness training by checking the UC Learning Center website
Any computer used to access the UCLA applications listed below, must have the following software installed: Duo Desktop and Trellix Endpoint Security (UCLA-approved antivirus). Please note, all devices within humanities should already have Trellix installed.

University Provided Apple Computers
If you use a Mac device (MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini or Mac Studio) then it is likely managed by HumTech through our mobile management service known as JAMF. One quick and easy way you can find out if your computer is managed by HumTech using JAMF is to open applications and look for the HumTech App portal in the list of applications. If this is the case for you, please launch the HumTech App Portal, locate the Duo Desktop app and install it on your machine. Once the installation is complete, you will be presented with an option to complete setup, click on it then enter your computer password. This will finalize the installation steps. Below is a YouTube link of a video demonstrating the steps to complete the installation for MacOS as described above.

For Windows (PC Users) you can attempt to perform the installation on your own with the instructions below, however in most cases this will require an administrator password in which case you will need to work with someone at HumTech to assist you. Please send an email to support@humnet.ucla.edu for assistance.
