Developing skills for independent literacy through collaborative exploration
This session discusses Academic Reading Circles (Seburn, 2015), an approach to teaching reading in second and foreign language teaching contexts. ARC provides a structure which empowers learners to become experts in specific aspects of a text, then pool their knowledge in a group discussion. With choice over tools and resources, including AI, students develop skills that support their growth as independent readers.
